My journey in art began at the age of four in my home in Florida, where I tried to express my creativity through pencil and paper. As I explored my interest in art, I played around with mediums and techniques such as color pencils and acrylic under the guidance of my first art teacher. I also participated in various art contests such as the Youth and Teen Art Contest and the State Fish Art contest, for which I was recognized.
In the years after I moved to Texas, I began to learn more about art through different mediums such as oil pastels and watercolor. At my elementary school, I spent a lot of time creating drawings in my art classes like a colorful representation of a banyan tree, and I also experimented on my own with different techniques such as a mosaic of the sun. These experiences served as the starting point from which I started to create more advanced artwork.
Falak Art Studio
As I continued to learn art in fifth grade under instructors from Falak Art, I was able to develop my skills in still life sketching techniques, graphite, charcoal, color pencils, crayons, oil pastels, acrylic paints, and watercolor. Throughout my 6th and 7th grade years, I also had the opportunity to compete in various competitions like the Transit Education Student Art contest and the Texas State Fish Art contest, in which I won an honorable mention.
In 8th grade, I challenged myself by taking Art 1 Honors, a high school course. I learned how to create perspective drawings from a single focal point and more advanced topics like two point perspective artwork. I also made use of familiar mediums such as acrylic, charcoal, and oil pastels with unique ones like melted crayon and prismacolor to create sophisticated pieces of artwork. Through this class, I honed my art skills and made works of art with various mediums I had never used before. I hope to continue creating art as a hobby as I enter the next phase of my life in college.
